LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A disgruntled employee went on a deadly neighborhood rampage after Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said he was fired for showing up in a “condition unfit for work.”

FOX5 obtained new video from neighbors that captured the scene, as an SUV barrels down the neighborhood streets, swerving toward neighbors as they jump out of the way.

“He was trying to hit somebody, and it was either going to be me or the kid or whoever’s standing in that road,” neighbor Richard Osayna says.

LVMPD said two men, including the employee’s former boss, were injured. Video shows the SUV running into one of the men in Osayna’s driveway.

“I was trying to tell him to lay on the floor, don’t move, I was telling everybody not to touch him, just let him lay there,” he says.

Then, Osayna says the SUV turned toward him.

“That’s when he tried to hit me and I ended up jumping the wall,” he says. “He jumped the curb and pretty much looked at me and gave a, gave a slash throat sign to me.”

Osayna says if it wasn’t for his neighbor who stepped in with a shotgun, so much more damage could have been done.

“My neighbor is a hero, my neighbor saved the day,” he says.

Annette Tilley is that neighbor’s grandmother. She says her grandson was yelling at the driver to stop as the SUV sped toward him.

“And then, he just drops the gun on the ground, hands on his head, and he says ‘he’s gone,’ and I went ‘you killed him?’” Tilley says.

Metro said they’ve submitted the case to the District Attorney’s Office to review for possible self defense.

“I said, ‘you do realize, by shooting that gun at that boy and you killing him, you saved all of us that were outside, and the whole street,’” Tilley says she told her grandson Friday.

On Friday morning, FOX5 witnessed Metro Police visiting Tilley’s home. Tilley says they were offering counseling and prayers to her grandson.
