LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The planned “pave-a-thon” on I-15 near the Las Vegas Strip for the past two weekends wasn’t fully focused on paving due to supply chain issues, according to Nevada Department of Transportation.

NDOT said the unexpected closure of one of the labs that created the rubberized asphalt resulted in not completing all of the planned paving work on I-15 between I-215 and Warm Springs.

“The remainder of paving will take place at a future date, with concentration on nightwork to minimize travel impacts,” an NDOT spokesperson said in an emailed statement.

“The closure was still required due to crane work and other activities that cannot occur over active traffic,” NDOT said. “Our crews successfully laid down open-grade pavement, installed advanced traffic management (ATM) signs, and placed girders for the Tropicana bridge.”

NDOT said the project is still on schedule.
