LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Officials with the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) are announcing the closing dates of two local offices as they gear up to be consolidation into a new location.

The Commercial Driver License office on Donovan Way in North Las Vegas will close at the end of the business day on Friday, October 9 while the Henderson office located on American Pacific Drive is slated to close on Wednesday, October 14, officials announced on Tuesday.

This comes as both offices are set to relocate to the newly-built Silverado facility this fall.

“We want to provide clarity about the upcoming closures of the Donovan and Henderson offices,” said DMV Director Tonya Laney.

“Both facilities are aging and no longer meet the needs of our growing customer population. We also identified opportunities to improve accessibility, expand customer service capacity and provide more convenient parking options for the public. By bringing services together in one modern facility, we can create a larger, more efficient one-stop location that will better serve Southern Nevada.”

The Silverado office will feature more service counters, upgraded ADA accessibility, over 350 parking spaces, and six self-service kiosks (four walk-up and two drive-through) for convenient transactions outside of regular business hours.

Customers are still encouraged to skip the trip and complete tasks like registration, license, or address updates online through the MyDMV or DriveNV portals.
