CHENEY, Wash. (FOX5) – A one-score contest went against UNLV women’s soccer as it fell 1-0 on the road to Eastern Washington Thursday at EWU Soccer Field.

The Rebels (2-4-1) finished even in shots on goal, 4-4, with the Eagles, but EWU scored the contest’s lone goal in the 17th minute on a PK that wound up being the deciding factor.

In each half, the Scarlet & Gray threatened with two shots on goal that ultimately were turned away. Those included one from junior Michelle Madrid in the 34th minute, one by freshman Makena Siaki in the 35th minute, another by sophomore Cassie Villanueva in the 49th minute and one by junior Gianna Newby in the 60th.

UP NEXT: UNLV will remain on the road when it plays at Idaho on Sunday at 11 a.m. PT. The match will be broadcast via ESPN+.
