LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Invitational Black Rodeo will run Friday and Saturday at Horseman’s Park, 5800 E. Flamingo Road.
This marks the fifth time Black Rodeo USA, which bills itself as “The Hottest Show On Dirt,” has come to Las Vegas.
The event features competitions with veteran and emerging Black cowboys and cowgirls, including bull riding and barrel racing.
Event theme focuses on legacy
Black Rodeo USA’s 2026 theme is “Reclaiming the Ride, Reimagining the Legacy.” The theme draws on words from one of Black Rodeo USA’s inaugural rodeo queens, crowned last October.
“Our community’s history is written in the dust of the arena, the rhythm of the rodeo, and the legacy of those who came before us,” she said.
Black Rodeo USA General Manager Jesse Guillory said the event offers an opportunity to highlight Black Americans’ history in rodeo.
“Our current climate seems to diminish the rich roles that African and Black Americans had in the West and beyond,” Guillory said.
“This is an opportunity to educate rodeo fans about a unique cultural heritage as well as to inspire a young generation to develop a desire and appreciation for the sport.”
