RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Over a dozen museums on UNR’s campus and in the local community are opening up their doors to the public for free on Saturday, October 19th. From 10 am to 4 pm. “We are so excited to bring this event back after five years. Day at the Museum is back for UNR,” said Cynthia Scholl, an Educational Coordinator at Museum of Natural History.

Experts will teach you about art, history, earth science, life science, and outer space.

“Active areas of research are about pollinators in Nevada, bee diversity, and bumble bee behavior. We have a really large set of tropical insects and a lot of researchers who study those. A super active plant collection where we are naming all of the plants in Nevada and the counties that you can find them in,” stated Scholl.

If you are feeling brave, you can even hold reptiles. “Sometimes the snakes, the live animals, are a joy for me. We have endangered fish, and endangered toads that only live in one valley in Nevada,” said School. “Those are some things that bring me a lot of joy.”
