LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5)—The Department of Justice will monitor 86 jurisdictions in 27 states, including Clark County, for the 2024 general election.
The DOJ announced on Friday that federal voting rights laws will be enforced and protected on Nov. 5 by staff members deployed across the country.
According to officials, staff are regularly deployed to monitor compliance.
Officials report the Civil Rights Division’s Voting Section will oversee that federal statutes are honored, such as the “Voting Rights Act, National Voter Registration Act, Help America Vote Act, Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act, and Civil Rights Acts,”
Staff will also look to uphold ADA citizen’s “equal opportunity to vote” by the Disability Rights Section.
