LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A deadly October shooting on a south valley road was caught on camera by a nearby taxi driver, according to a new arrest report.
25-year-old Keyun Watts was identified as a suspect and arrested by Las Vegas Metro police on Tuesday, nearly a month after the shooting. That night, Watts shot and killed 22-year-old Elvin Sejdinovic while they were driving on Decatur Boulevard, near Sobb Avenue.
LVMPD detectives noted in an arrest report that the taxi cab footage captured Watts firing eight shots at the victim’s vehicle, which would later crash.
Officers located Sejdinovic inside his vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and transported him to UMC Trauma where he would later die.
While in custody, Watts would confess to shooting Sejdinovic. He would also tell police that before the shooting, the two were stopped at a signal.
Watts flashed his headlights because he though it would make the traffic lights cycle faster. He told police Sejdinovic flashed his lights back.
The victim made a U-Turn at the light to drive next to Watts. He said something was thrown at his car, possibly a water bottle.
Watts told police he saw the driver reach for another item. At this point, he grabbed his handgun and shot at him.
Watts admitted to police that he was not sure if the other driver had a gun. Las Vegas police said Watts did not report this incident.
He was in court Thursday morning for a bail hearing. He remains in custody on an open murder charge.
