LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A days’ long search for a missing man with Alzheimer’s continues in the Sunrise Manor area. David Ramirez, 62, was last seen leaving his home near Desert Inn and Hollywood.

“He’s a big friendly senior, he loves people… He is kind,” cried Julieta Jimenez sharing about her missing father and the community’s search for him.
“The outpouring of support from the community and Red Rock [Search and Rescue], it has been incredible,” Jimenez contended.

Wednesday morning, Ramirez was captured on doorbell video stepping outside his front door and standing there for a minute before slowly walking off into the street. Two years ago, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

“It comes and goes it is not something that is consistent… I am hoping this an episode of it and he will come to a lucid moment,” Jimenez revealed.

More than 100 volunteers: friends, family, neighbors, and complete strangers are searching the area on foot, on dirt bikes and by car.

“Red Rock Search and Rescue came out to my house they took a sample of his scent to use with the K9’s… They started searching around my neighborhood… The dogs lead them to the wash behind my home… The dogs couldn’t continue the search because they didn’t have their boots because it was dark,” Jimenez recounted.

As the odds of finding him safe become more unlikely with each passing day, his family is not sleeping, not working just searching and refusing to give up hope.
“We are trying to remain hopeful. So, I am asking everyone to please keep a lookout for him… I want him home,” Jimenez stated.

Search Dogs 24/7 from San Diego, California are driving into town Monday night to pick up the search.
Ramirez has tattoos on both calves, tattoos on both shoulders, and tattoos on his fingers. He is missing a front tooth. Call Metro Police or the family immediately if you see him.

The family can be reached at 702-969-5586. They ask you share this story on social media to raise awareness and reach as many people as possible to help bring Ramirez home.
