LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Nevada Department of Transportation seeks public input for a HOV lanes in Southern Nevada.

Residents and drivers could participate in a new survey assessing the use of high occupancy vehicle lanes.

The survey is the public’s opportunity to share insights and experiences with HOV systems.

“This survey marks an important step in understanding how Nevadans use and benefit from the HOV lanes,” said NDOT spokesperson Kelsey McFarland. “We’re committed to enhancing the HOV system to ensure it meets the needs of all users, supports efficient travel, and promotes safety across the state.”

The survey could be found here. NDOT says it‘ll take about five minutes to complete. It’ll cover travel patterns, peak-hour usage and suggestions for improvements.

It will be available through Friday, Dec. 13.

NDOT encourages all I-15 and I-11/US 95 users, particularly local residents and workers, to participate and make their voices heard.

In 2023, the Nevada Transportation Board of Directors voted to change HOV lane operating hours to weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The board also directed NDOT to conduct a National Environmental Policy Act study to determine the future of HOV lanes in Southern Nevada.
