LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Mr. Piffles, chihuahua companion to Las Vegas Strip headliner Piff the Magic Dragon, has died at 16.
A Wednesday press release revealed that he passed just short of his 17th birthday.
Piff the Magic Dragon shared, “For over fifteen years I’ve had the privilege and the pleasure of being upstaged and outshone night after night by Mr Piffles. He came into my life when I had nothing, and set me on the path to a career I could only dream of. In the beginning, I may have rescued him, but in the end, he rescued me.”
In honor of Mr. Piffles, the Flamingo will hold a special ceremony to honor Mr. Piffles at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Additionally, the resort will dedicate a dog-friendly space in his memory.
During his time as a headliner, Mr. Piffles racked up over 5,000 performances, including appearances on America’s Got Talent and Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
Mr. Piffles is survived by his owner and his genetically identical clone, Mr. Piffles the Second.
