LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – An inmate at High Desert State Prison was killed by his cellmate in a stabbing last Thursday.
The Nevada Department of Corrections confirmed to FOX5 that the incident occurred and that the inmate died as a result. The Clark County Coroner has identified the inmate as Hawk Urban, a 27-year-old Native American man.
Prison records show he was serving a sentence for battery and parole violation.
NDOC has also confirmed that the victim and suspect were cellmates at the time. They had also been housed together at Ely State Prison for 258 days without prior incidents.
The suspect has not been identified.
