LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are investigating a single-vehicle crash a few blocks west of the Strip on Thursday night that left one person dead.
According to a preliminary report, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to W. Russell Rd. and Arville St. at approximately 9:38 p.m. According to police, a vehicle crashed into a pole and one occupant of the vehicle appears to have been ejected. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital but died from the injuries.
A second occupant sustained minor injuries. Police are still investigating to determine who was driving the vehicle and if impairment may have been a factor in the crash.
Police advise avoiding the area, as roads will be closed for several hours. LVMPD Fatal Detectives are responding to the scene to take over the investigation.
