LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A new arrest report is finally offering details about what led to Reba the Bulldog’s discovery and eventual death.

This past weekend, Las Vegas police announced the arrests of Markeisha Foster and Isaac Laushaul Jr., who are accused of leaving the dog in a plastic tote bin near a dumpster in July.

According to a two-part report from Las Vegas Metro police, witnesses who lived near the suspects’ apartment recalled hearing Laushaul Jr. yell at Reba for peeing inside the apartment and seeing her tied up outside often.

Kids from the complex would reportedly try to give Reba water on hot dogs because “she looked dehydrated.”

Detectives also learned that many residents approached Laushaul Jr., and offered to take the dog, but he refused to give her away.

Once news broke of Reba’s death, residents noted the dog’s disappearance from the complex. However, witnesses would tell police that they did not report the situation because they feared retaliation from Laushaul.

Detectives would track down the suspects using license plate readers and surveillance video to identify the Kia Forte used to drop the bin off.

However, police would discover additional evidence related to Reba’s death when officers responded to the complex in May after receiving reports of a dead body in the stairwell. Body camera footage would capture a dog leash tied to the guardrail outside of the suspects’ apartment.

Police would also respond to the apartment in on July 16, and body camera footage would capture a bulldog inside a kennel in the kitchen area. Body camera footage from another visit later in the month would capture the kennel empty.

While in custody, Foster would tell police that she noticed Reba was ill on the day of her discovery, and when her condition did not improve, Laushaul placed her inside the bin.

Laushaul, Jr. is expected back in court for a bail hearing later this week, with future hearings for him and 30-year-old Markeisha Foster scheduled for January.
