LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – NV Energy report balloons made contact with a transmission line which caused a massive power outage.

Over 7,500 NV Energy customers were left in the dark in downtown Las Vegas.

According to NV Energy’s website, the outage was mostly in the 89101 and 89104 area.

NV Energy crews were on the scene and restored power around 7 p.m.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue say a generator began producing smoke when the power went out in a parking structure in the area.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue posted about the outage on X.
