LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Police said threats in Death Valley were not identified after a report to dispatch Thursday.
Around 2:40 p.m., the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a bomb and shooting threat at Furnance Creek Ranch in Death Valley.
The caller said they were a relative of a former employee of the ranch.
The sheriff’s office responded with the following personnel:
- Inyo-Mono County Special Enforcement Detail (SED)
- Death Valley National Park Service
- Nye County Sheriff’s Office
- California Highway Patrol (CHP)
- National Park Service – Lake Mead (provided an explosive detection K-9)
- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
A comprehensive search of the area was conducted with an explosive detection K-9 unit. Police said they found no threats.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
