LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas man fatally shot his ex-wife’s new girlfriend, according to an arrest report from Metro police.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department released Adrian Rodriguez-Guillen’s arrest report to FOX5. He’s accused of open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, two counts of kidnapping, burglary and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

The deadly shooting happened January 3 at 4:43 p.m., Metro’s ShotSpotter detected eight gunshots near Tropicana and Nellis. Police would receive two calls, one from Guillen, reporting the shooting.

Police arrived and located Guillen. He told police he shot someone and was taken into custody.

Also at the scene was an Elantra and a Chevrolet. In the Elantra, police found two women. Both women had gunshot wounds. The one in the driver’s seat died at the scene, according to medical.

The other woman told police her, “ex-husband shot us” while they were rendering aid. She would be sent to Sunrise Hospital for further medical attention.

Police gathered surveillance video in the area. Surveillance video showed Guillen driving behind the two women in the Chevrolet but accelerated and cut them off.

He exited with a rifle in his hands and pointed it at the Elantra. The video ends with him dropping the rifle in his car and grabbing a handgun.

Police interviewed the woman at Sunrise. She said her and Guillen were married for 24 years, but divorced in 2013. They remained together to raise their seven children.

She told police she met a woman about a year ago. They started a romantic relationship and she ended her relationship with Guillen. She said he got jealous and angry.

Before the shooting, Guillen’s ex-wife told him the victim was going to pick her up to learn how to drive for DoorDash. Guillen appeared to be okay with it, but would later grow angry one she left.

Guillen would leave around the same time she would, but she told police she didn’t know where he was going.

Once Guillen’s ex-wife got into her girlfriend’s car, that’s when he appeared behind them.

She told police Guillen used a rifle to shoot her girlfriend and then used a handgun threatening that he would hurt himself.

He remains in custody and faces a preliminary hearing on February 19 at 9:30 a.m.
