LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police and the Henderson Police Department said they will be targeting drivers speeding through the end of January.
Henderson said it will be their fourth Joining Forces traffic enforcement initiative. It started Monday and will run through January 31.
HPD says they will saturate patrols in areas known for excessive speeds and that have received the most complaints for speeding violations.
Nevada State Police’ Joining Forces campaign is also the same time as Henderson’s.
“In 2024, there were 412 fatalities in Nevada, with speeding as one of the top contributors to fatalities on Nevada’s roadways,” NSP said. “Speeding isn’t just about going faster than the posted speed limit – speeding includes driving too fast during bad weather conditions such as rain, ice, and snow and jeopardizing your safety and the safety of others on the road.”
According to the Nevada Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “For more than two decades, speeding has been involved in approximately one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities”.
