LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Metro police have arrested a man for open murder after officers found a body in North Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said officers found a body near West Owens Avenue and Stocker Street the afternoon of Jan. 2.

The body was found between a building and railroad tracks. Medical said the person died at the scene and they were taken to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

The next day, the coroner said the person died by a gunshot wound and it was ruled a homicide.

On Tuesday, police arrested 30-year-old Connor Demots as the suspect in the shooting. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder.
