LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Five different Lady Rebels scored in double-digits as UNLV collected an 84-51 victory over Air Force on Wednesday night at Cox Pavilion. The Scarlet & Gray (14-4, 6-0 MW) extended their winning streak to seven games.
Amarachi Kimpson led the way with 19 points by shooting 9-for-15 from the field, 1-for-3 from the three and led the squad in assists with four. Alyssa Brown picked up her third double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Brown shot 7-for-10 from the field, 1-for-3 from long range and was 1-for-1 at the free throw line. Aaliyah Alexander drained 12 points tonight, while Kenadee Winfrey had 11 points and Kiara Jackson tallied 10 points, respectively.
The Falcons (10-7, 0-5 MW) were led by Milahnie Perry who put up 12 points and Alexis Cortez had 10 points, respectively. Jayda McNabb was the leading rebounder for Air Force, bringing down six boards.
CONTROLLED FROM THE START: After Brown won the jump ball, Kimpson drove to the basket to put up a quick layup. The Lady Rebels then scored six straight points to take an early 8-0 lead. UNLV closed out the first 10 minutes of play with a 16-5 lead. The five points Air Force scored are the fewest points the Lady Rebels allowed this season.
STAT OF THE GAME: The Lady Rebels continue to win the paint party as they scored 44 of their 84 points in the paint. The Falcons scored 34 of their 51 points in the paint.
OTHER NOTES:
- The Lady Rebels are 6-0 in Mountain West play for the first time since 2022-23.
- UNLV has now won 24 straight games against Air Force
- Elli Guiney drained second career three-pointer tonight.
- The Scarlet & Gray out-rebounded Air Force 39-24.
- The Lady Rebels out-shot the Falcons 50.0% (32 of 64) to 41.2% (21 of 51).
- UNLV’s bench out-scored Air Force’s bench 27-16.
