LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV Lady Rebels are hitting the road for the next Mountain West contest visiting Fresno State on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. The Scarlet & Gray are looking for their ninth straight win and eighth straight over MW opponents this season. UNLV currently holds a 21-0 MW road game winning streak.

ABOUT FRESNO STATE: The Lady Rebels are 27-22 all-time against the Bulldogs. UNLV has won the last eight straight meetings, which includes the first meeting this season on Dec. 29, 2024. The Lady Rebels and Bulldogs met in the first week of league play, when UNLV won 78-53 at Cox Pavilion. The Scarlet & Gray has not lost to the Bulldogs in head coach Lindy La Rocque’s tenure. Fresno State heads into Wednesday’s contest coming off a 65-36 loss at Air Force. The Bulldogs are 12-7 overall and 3-3 in MW play. Fresno State has two players scoring in double-digits and are led by Mia Jacobs’ who is averaging nearly a double-double a night with 18.4 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game. Mariah Elohim is the second-leading scorer for the Bulldogs, averaging 10.6 points per game.

SQUAD LEADERS: UNLV currently has four players scoring in double-figures and are led by Amarachi Kimpson with 14.4 points per game. Kiara Jackson is the second leading scorer who is averaging 13.1 points per game and leads the Lady Rebels in assists with 4.9 per game and field goals made with 5.3 per game. Alyssa Brown leads the squad in rebounds, bringing down 7.8 per game. Meadow Roland is second for the Lady Rebels in rebounds with 6.2 per game.

LAST TIME ON THE COURT: The UNLV Lady Rebels come away with their seventh straight win over a Mountain West opponent after forcing overtime and defeating Wyoming 72-71 on Sunday afternoon at Cox Pavilion. The Scarlet & Gray have now won the last six meetings over the Cowgirls, including two overtime victories. Three Lady Rebels scored in double-figures and were led by Amarachi Kimpson’s 22 points. Kimpson shot 8-for-12 from the field and did not miss a free throw (6 of 6). McKinna Brackens put up 14 points, which included the game-winning bucket in overtime against the Cowgirls. Aaliyah Alexander scored 12 points and brought down a season-high seven rebounds of which four were offensive. Alyssa Brown was the leading rebounder for UNLV with 13 boards, and Kiara Jackson led the squad in assists with four, which includes her pass to Brackens for the game-winning basket.

THREE-PEAT LAST SEASON: The Lady Rebels have continued to bring the heat last season, which culminated with a third consecutive Mountain West Regular Season and Tournament Titles. UNLV became the first program in MW history to claim both titles in three straight seasons. The Scarlet & Gray earned its third automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, a first in both program and league history. The Lady Rebels finished the season only one of two squads to have two (South Carolina) straight seasons with 30 wins. UNLV earned its highest ranking in both the AP and Coaches Poll coming in at No. 20 and No. 19. The Lady Rebels appeared in the Top-25 eight times this season and came into the season receiving votes for the first time in 19 years. UNLV claimed the MW’s Player of the Year in Desi-Rae Young (All-MW Team and All-Defensive Team), and Sixth and Freshman of the Year with Amarachi Kimspon (All-MW Team honorable mention and All-Freshman MW Team). Kiara Jackson earned All-MW team accolades and Alyssa Brown was named MW Tournament MVP.

WHAT UP SQUAD: The Lady Rebels return 10 of the 14 players from its 2024 championship squad, including two starters and Mountain West Sixth Player and Freshman of the Year Amarachi Kimpson. UNLV added two freshmen guards Teagan Colvin and Elli Guiney, and junior transfer Aaliyah Alexander from Eastern Washington.

UP NEXT: The Lady Rebels continue on the road and next visit San Diego State on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. This marks the first meeting of the season between the two squads.
