LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – FOX5 obtained the 911 calls from a deadly wrong-way crash on I-15 that killed an off-duty Las Vegas police officer.

Officer Colton Pulsipher, 29, was killed in a crash on Dec. 12 on I-15 near Mile Marker 78, near Valley of Fire State Park.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said Pulsipher was headed home from his shift when he was hit by the wrong way driver, later identified as 31-year-old Fernando Jimenez Jimenez.

“A car just passed us going very fast southbound in the northbound lanes,” a caller told dispatch.”

“Were you able to see what kind of vehicle it was at all?”

“No, it was going too fast,” they said. “It was dark. All I saw was headlights coming.”

More calls would come in. A truck driver called and also Metro, who said they had a call drop on the I-15 northbound near mile marker 78.

911 calls started to report the crash.

“Just past the Loves gas station. There’s a two car pileup. There’s bodies on the freeway. The driver of one is deceased.”

Dispatch told passersby to stay away from the scene until police arrived. Police assured callers that officers and medical were on the way.

Pulsipher is survived by his wife and three young children.
