LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The chief operating officer of Allegiant Airlines has announced he will step down.

According to a press release after 23 years with Allegiant Keny F. Wilper has stepped down from the COO position effective March. 3.

Tyler Hollingsworth will serve as the interim COO. Hollingsworth has worked with the company since 2010.

Officials say Wilper is known for spearheading the airlines first-ever baggage programs which have become the company’s business model.

“The decision to step down from my role as COO was not made lightly, but I need to take time away to focus on my family, who have faced some significant challenges,” Mr. Wilper said.
