LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A police drone helped ground officers track and arrest two armed robbery suspects in east Las Vegas on Sept. 11, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers responded to a reported armed robbery in the 1600 block of South Hollywood Boulevard, near Charleston Blvd. before deploying the air unit, police said.

The drone operator located the suspects’ vehicle and relayed real-time updates to responding officers in coordination with the department’s Air Unit.

Ground units used the aerial updates to locate and take both suspects into custody, according to the department.

The arrest comes as the LVMPD Drone Unit surpassed 25,000 flights in 2026, police said, citing the aircraft as an increasingly central tool for situational awareness and officer support across the valley.
