LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Five people, including three teens, were injured in a head-on crash in the east valley Monday morning.
According to Las Vegas Metro Police, the crash occurred around 3:12 a.m. near East Sahara Avenue, east of Pacific Summit Street. An initial investigation found that a 2002 Toyota Camry was traveling west on Sahara, while a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan was traveling east.
For unknown reasons, police say the Toyota’s driver failed to maintain control of the car, crossed into eastbound lanes, and collided with the front of the Volkswagen.
All parties involved were taken to a nearby hospital. The Toyota’s driver (a 20-year-old man) and front-seat passenger (a 17-year-old boy) were determined to have life-threatening injuries, two others (a 40-year-old man and 15-year-old girl) were reported to have serious injuries, and one reported minor injuries (an 18-year-old boy).
Both drivers involved were investigated for suspected impaired driving, police added.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
