LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Duane “Keffe D” Davis has dropped his public defender and hired a local attorney.
According to court documents obtained by FOX5, the request was approved last week. It’s not clear who his new attorney is though.
Davis is charged with involvement in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur.
Earlier this month, a judge ruled Davis could be released from jail and serve house arrest with electronic monitoring ahead of his trial in June.
His then-court-appointed attorneys asked for his bail not to exceed 100-thousand dollars. But the judge set his bail at 750 thousand.
At last check, he has not posted bail and remains in jail.
His next court appearance has been scheduled for February 20.
His trial date is set for June 3.
