LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The new Event Center at Desert Breeze just wrapped up a successful round of shows.

“Boots in the Park” is a traveling country concert series.

But some neighbors wish they would take the show on the road, sounding off on how loud it was.

Two neighbors live right across the street from the Desert Breeze Events Center off Durango in the southwest valley, and a few houses away from one another.

Even though they’re close in proximity, they’re far apart when it comes to the noise levels, according to Patricia Egosi and Klaus Bohr.

“The first thing that came in my ears was I think the drums,” Egosi said.

“I was at home and I like to be in my backyard and it doesn’t disturb me in any way,” Bohr said.

That’s exactly what played out on social media, as neighbors hopped on Nextdoor with different viewpoints.

Egosi sees both sides, but it’s what she heard over the weekend that has her worried about future events.

“For a quiet neighborhood to become you know, events like every weekend it’s a big deal. It’s a big change,” Egosi said.

Neighbor, Klaus Bohr who’s been in the area for almost 10 years welcomes the change.

“I’m fine with the noise. I love that people can come over, that they have the opportunity to participate and enjoy these concerts,” Bohr said. “I personally like it and I have no problem.”

For Egosi, the problem wasn’t just the noise, but the extra people, spilling into her neighborhood.

“The traffic was also horrible by the way. A lot of cars parking everywhere. This street here was full of car parking,” Egosi said.

Clark County is aware, telling FOX5 “We have received a few noise complaints about the Boots in the Park event that was held on Friday and Saturday at our Desert Breeze Events Center. The event was well attended and ended on time both nights. It’s important to note that the Desert Breeze Center is a new venue – it opened a few weeks ago – and we are monitoring feedback from the community.”

Egosi has this message for the county.

“They need to take care of the noise level that’s for sure, you know? That’s why we live around here. We don’t want to live in Vegas,” Egosi said. “We wanted to live in a neighborhood that does not have to do with Vegas!”

She adds that a lot of her neighbors are elderly and she was voicing their concerns as well.

The county adds the Parks and Rec department hosts hundreds of events a year and is receptive to concerns from the community.
