LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A suspected drunk driver was released from custody Tuesday following a deadly crash on Summerlin Parkway Saturday.

According to Nevada State Police, troopers responded to the freeway near Anasazi Drive around 4:52 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash. Upon arrival, troopers located a Jeep Wrangler and an unoccupied Toyota Camry.

Arriving medical crews also began providing aid to the driver and passengers of the Jeep, and transported three to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. One of the passengers, a 22-year-old man named Grat Walker, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An initial investigation found that the Jeep’s driver, 25-year-old Fredrick Tuiletufuga, veered out of the lane and struck an unoccupied 2001 Toyota Camry parked on the right shoulder.

The Jeep then continued off the roadway and overturned in the rock embankment. The unrestrained occupants within the Jeep were all ejected from the vehicle as it skidded, before it fell underneath the Anasazi Drive overpass.

Investigators say Tuiletufuga showed no sign of impairment at the scene, but marijuana was located inside the vehicle.

Toxicology samples were collected that showed his blood-alcohol concentration at .160g/100 mL, less than two hours after the crash occurred.

He was initially taken into custody and booked on a DUI resulting in death charge, but was released on his own recognizance during an April 22 hearing.

He is due back before a judge on April 24.
