LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The man accused of shooting and killing a dog inside a kennel made his first court appearance Friday morning.
Kevin Hoskins, 34, is facing multiple animal cruelty charges.
He was appointed a public defender who is requesting more time to look into the case.
Las Vegas Justice Court judge Holly Stoberski set his bail at 263 thousand dollars.
Witnesses told police Hoskins was upset and making threats that he was going to kill the dog.
This is not Hoskins’ first run-in with the law. Back in 2014, he was accused of assault with a deadly weapon in North Las Vegas. The charge was eventually reduced to disorderly conduct after the defendant completed impulse control counseling. The case was closed a short time later.
Hoskins’ next court date is scheduled for April 29 at 8:30 a.m.
