LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A man said he stabbed two people and killed one to “seek revenge” over a stolen wallet, documents say.

FOX5 obtained the arrest report for Roger Peralta, who faces charges of open murder, attempted murder, battery and burglary charges related to the incident, according to court documents.

The stabbing happened Tuesday afternoon behind the Boulevard Mall in the 1400 block of Pawnee Drive. The arrest report says Peralta waited for officers to arrive and told them he “did not intend to run.”

Peralta was immediately taken into custody at the scene.

Inside the home, officers found two people with stab wounds. One was transported to Sunrise Hospital, and the other died at the scene.

A witness would tell police that Timothy was living alongside a mother, her son, and his girlfriend. She claimed she was making coffee and heard noises from the laundry room.

According to the report, she walked over and found Peralta in a fight with another unidentified individual. The witness told officers that Timothy grabbed a hammer and tried to intervene, but was fatally stabbed.

Detectives would also learn from witnesses that Peralta lost his job, and was living with roommates at 14th Street and Marlin. Witnesses also added that he had previously said he “wanted revenge” over his missing wallet.

On the day of the stabbing, Peralta would walk behind Boulevard Mall, believing his wallet would be with the victims. When he found their garage open, Peralta stabbed Timothy and later told officers he was “scared” and felt “guilty.”

However, Peralta also claimed the stabbing was in self-defense as he searched for his wallet.

LVMPD detectives noted in the report that his wallet was not found in the victim’s home.

Peralta is due in court on Monday.
