COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A teenage girl missing from Utah since April was found safe in Colorado Springs on Sunday evening.

According to the South Jordan Police Department, “a young female voluntarily made contact” with police in Colorado Springs and identified herself as the missing 15-year-old girl. Her identity was confirmed, and police said she is “in good health and safe with Colorado officials.”

South Jordan officials said that the girl walked away from an area school on April 21 and was listed as a runaway after reportedly taking a train to Provo and then asking multiple people to help her get to Las Vegas. Police said they believed she was trying to meet up with people she met online on social media and chat platforms.

On May 10, SJPD said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children shared the identity of William Glines, an adult male living in Texas, who they believe contacted her before she went missing on April 21. The SJPD said they then partnered with the Texas City Police Department, as they both continued their efforts and investigations to find her and expose potential leads.

On May 20, charges were filed against Glines and another adult male, who SJPD said were in contact with the teen before she left school on April 21.

Police said one male, Matthew Menard of Miami, Florida, is facing charges of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, enticement of a minor and criminal solicitation.

Glines faces charges of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, attempted aggravated exploitation of a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor, enticement of a minor and criminal solicitation.

Last Wednesday, SJPD announced Menard surrendered to the police department and was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.

The SJPD also shared that a third male, Samuel Mitchell of Herriman, Utah, was identified in connection with the teen. Police said Mitchell was arrested for the sexual exploitation of a minor and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.

According to South Jordan police, the girl’s parents are aware of her location, and officials are working to get her back home.
