LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Terrible’s assumed management control of the gaming properties at Primm Valley Casino Resorts at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, July 5, following the completion of a transition from Affinity Interactive’s subsidiary, The Primadonna Company, LLC.

The transition includes Primm Valley Casino, Buffalo Bill’s Casino, and Whiskey Pete’s Casino. Terrible’s said Primm Valley Casino was the only gaming property open prior to the management change and that its immediate focus is to reopen that property in the coming weeks.

Affinity cites unsustainable lease economics

Affinity Interactive said its subsidiary, The Primadonna Company, LLC, determined that the economics of the Primm leasehold interest were no longer viable. The company said the Primm landlord was not willing to reduce rent to a sustainable amount.

“The Primm property was a cash drain of approximately $10–15 million per year for many years, and there was no commercially rational basis to continue investing in the property or to financially support its continued operations,” Affinity said in a statement.

Affinity said discussions between The Primadonna Company and the Primm landlord regarding the lease began more than two years ago, alongside a third-party valuation process and market outreach.

Terrible’s retains all employees who wished to stay

Terrible’s said it offered employment to every Primm team member once it was permitted to meet with employees. The company said it retained and onboarded 100% of those who wished to remain — approximately 300 people — and that on-site employee housing remains open and active.

Terrible’s said it took over management of the Primm Center, Chevron Gas Station, Flying J, Whiskey Pete’s Travel Store, Lotto Store, and Starbucks on July 1, with each property successfully reopened by July 2.

Long-term plans still being finalized

Terrible’s said its longer-term plans for the Primm properties, including Buffalo Bill’s and Whiskey Pete’s, are still being finalized. The company said it is identifying opportunities for investment, infrastructure improvements, enhanced amenities, and new experiences.

Affinity said it extended appreciation to the Nevada Gaming Control Board for its collaboration and guidance throughout the process.
