LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Clark County firefighters responded to a structure fire in the central Las Vegas Valley Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported around 5:30 a.m. at the University United Methodist Church near University Avenue and Maryland Parkway.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was called out after being notified that a man was seen on the roof setting items on fire.
A Metro lieutenant said the suspect was arrested and taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Arson detectives have taken over the investigation.
The fire has been extinguished, police said.
