LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Community leaders launched their action plan for the “Safe Streets for All” effort, hoping to get as much input as possible from Valley locals on neighborhood road changes.

Community leaders hope to get as many “Let’s Go Safely” surveys answered as possible. Officials will also go into neighborhoods to get input from road users.

“We’re going to do a lot of workshops out there. We’ll have online surveys. We want to get out and do ‘walk audits’: that’s where we actually go out there, we walk the street. We get community involvement from people that live in those neighborhoods because we know they’re the ones who know this issue better than anyone,” said Commissioner Justin Jones, who has been driving efforts for e-scooter and e-bike safety across the county.

“If they are out there and they’re the ones walking their kids to school in the morning, they’re the ones who will be able to tell us where the improvements are most needed,” Jones said.

From 2019 through May 2025, 1,540 people have lost their lives on Southern Nevada roads, according to RTC statistics. 2024 was the deadliest ever with 294 vehicle-related deaths.

Leaders will zero in on the “Safer Streets” Priority Network: roadways and major thoroughfares across the Valley that have the most fatal or serious crashes. Around 65% of these deadly or fatal crashes occur on 32% of Valley roads.

“Whether it’s engineering, whether it’s education, whether it’s enforcement, everything’s on the table across all jurisdictions as we look to make our roadways safer,” said Andrew Bennett of the Clark County Office of Traffic Safety.

You can fill out the Let’s Go Safely survey online. Community leaders are gathering input through August.

From September through January 2026, officials will perform walk audits, conduct focus groups and launch local surveys.

By May 2026, documents state that RTC and regional leaders will adopt road design strategies into their final plan.
