LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Coming off its best back-to-back seasons in history, UNLV football earned 11 positions on the 2025 Preseason All-Mountain West teams announced by Athlon Sports.
Running back Jai’Den “Jet” Thomas, a junior who has scored 20 overall touchdowns in his first two seasons, was a member of the First Team along with senior linebacker Marsel McDuffie, who is the squad’s leading returning tackler both from last season and in a career.
Five Rebels – all transfers — were named to Athlon’s Third Team. Offensively, quarterback Anthony Colandrea (Virginia), wide receiver Troy Omeire (Arizona State) joined center Reid Williams (Chattanooga). On defense, defensive lineman Jalen Lee (LSU) and safety Jaheem Joseph (West Virginia) were included.
Four new UNLV players were on the Fourth Team: wide receiver JoJo Earle (TCU) and offensive lineman Malik McGowan (North Carolina) represented their side of the ball while defensive lineman Chief Borders (Pittsburgh) and cornerback Aamaris Brown (USF) were from defense.
On Phil Steele’s recently released 2025 Preseason MW Team, six Rebels were included. Lee, McDuffie and Thomas on the Second Team, Omeire and offensive lineman Austin Boyd on the Third Team and Joseph on the Fourth Team.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Dan Mullen, the Rebels will kick off their 58th season of football August 23 by hosting Idaho State in the earliest game in program history.
