LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A woman died after being struck by a box truck while crossing a street Thursday night in central Las Vegas.
The collision occurred just after 11 p.m. near the intersection of Eastern and Owens avenues, where a box truck hit a woman who was crossing outside a marked crosswalk.
The pedestrian, identified as a 38-year-old Las Vegas woman, was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The box truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.
Police said the woman’s death was the 89th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction in 2025. The incident remains under investigation.
