LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — According to a release from the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), the Interstate 15 south widening project will continue over the weekend.
Officials say, lane reductions expected for commuters starting on July 20 and completing on Aug. 1.
Each restriction will take place nightly and last from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
“These traffic restrictions are necessary for profile grinding, lighting upgrades, and asphalt milling operations,” the NDOT release said.
The scheduled restrictions are as follows:
Sunday, July 20 to Tuesday, July 22:
- Northbound I-15 reduced to one lane from Blue Diamond Road to Warm Springs Road
- Eastbound Blue Diamond Road to northbound I-15 flyover road closed
Sunday, July 20 to Friday, July 25:
- Northbound I-15 reduced to one lane from Sloan Road to Starr Avenue
- Northbound I-15 reduced to one lane from Silverado Ranch Boulevard to Blue Diamond Road
- Southbound I-15 reduced to two lanes from Starr Avenue to St Rose Parkway
Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25:
- Southbound I-15 reduced to one lane from Warm Springs Rd to Blue Diamond Road
Sunday, July 27 to Friday, August 1:
- Northbound I-15 reduced to one lane from Sloan Road to Starr Avenue
Work that is expected to continue 24 hours per day, seven days per week through July 2025 includes on the southbound I-15 from Warm Springs Road to Blue Diamond Road and on northbound I-15 from Blue Diamond Road to Silverado Ranch Boulevard where the roadway will be reduced to three lanes.
Commuters are advised to take alternate routes, exercise caution when traveling through work zones, and use the Waze app, which displays the latest highway restrictions. NDOT officials note that weather and other factors could modify the work.
