LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Clark County official says he is “outraged” by a video showing a group on e-motorcycles tearing up Mountain’s Edge Regional Park.

A Mountain’s Edge resident, who wanted to stay anonymous, sent the video to FOX5 he recorded on Wednesday night.

It shows a group of about a dozen e-motorcycle riders, riding around on the park’s grass, and doing donuts in the field.

“It’s literally scary, it freaks the dogs out, it surprises you,” the resident said. “Then they zoom within inches of you and don’t really make any effort to avoid you at all.”

He said the group became aggressive when they noticed he was recording.

“They started cursing at me, yelling. One kid said he was gonna hit me with a rock,” he said.

FOX5 shared the video with Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones, who introduced the ordinance to ban e-motorcycles in county parks, which went into effect in May.

Then, in early-July, signs were posted at Mountain’s Edge Regional Park, explaining the new rules.

“I’m outraged and disturbed,” Jones said. “It was clear that they were literally thumbing their nose at what we’re trying to do.”

Jones said he will be working with the county’s Office of Public Safety, and Metro Police, to try to identify the group in the videos.

“We will go after, not just the kids for what they’re doing, but the parents are responsible for the property destruction and vandalism that they caused,” he said.

Moving forward, he said they will be more aggressive in their enforcement of the ordinance. However, he said these videos are a step above a simple citation.

“Yes, E-motorcycles were involved in this incident, but property destruction is property destruction,” Jones said.

Jones asks anyone who witnesses incidents involving e-bikes or e-motorcycles to call 311 or 911, depending on the incident, and provide videos to authorities.
