LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Nevada Highway Patrol, a division of the Nevada State Police, responded to a fatal crash on Brent Thurman Way, just south of West Hacienda Avenue in Clark County, on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at approximately 5:50 a.m.
A preliminary investigation found a dark green Genesis GV80 SUV was traveling northbound on Brent Thurman Way in the number one travel lane, just south of West Hacienda Avenue, when the driver failed to maintain the travel lane.

Vehicle struck barrier wall
The driver overcorrected to the left, causing the left front of the Genesis to strike an unknown barrier wall.
The unrestrained passenger was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Genesis was later arrested on scene for suspected impairment.
Passenger identified
The passenger, Haely Brooke Polaski, was transported to a local area hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. NHP was later notified by hospital personnel that Polaski had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
