LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas Metro Police say a cold case out of Arizona, where deputies found human remains, may have ties to the valley.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office says its Special Investigations Unit is working to identify human remains that were found in Dolan Springs on August 26, 2021. The area is about one hour southeast of Las Vegas.
The remains were found in the 1700 block of North Drive. A homeowner told deputies they were breaking a concrete slab on the property when the remains were found underneath it.
Investigators have since worked on creating a DNA profile for the remains. According to autopsy results, the victim was about 45 to 65 years old, 5′6″ to 5′10″ tall, had dark brown hair and no distinct dental work. The results indicate the victim may be Hispanic and was killed between 2010 and 2018.
Las Vegas Metro Police shared the case from MCSO, saying many Dolan Springs residents also live or own property in Las Vegas, and someone in the valley could have information that could help in this case.
Metro Police said anyone who has information or is willing to provide a DNA sample for comparison should contact MCSO’s Special Investigations Unit at 928-753-0753 ext. 4408.
