
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A man who was left in critical condition after a suspected DUI crash has died, police said.
According to a release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the 61-year-old man, who was sitting at a bus stop when the crash occurred, was pronounced dead Monday.
The crash, which took place July 31 near the intersection of Vegas and Buffalo drives and involved two vehicles, also knocked out power for thousands. Roberto Olivas, 27, “exhibited several signs of impairment,” police said. He was traveling at nearly 100 mph before the crash, according to Olivas’ arrest report.
Olivas faces one count each of felony reckless driving; felony DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm or in a work zone; driving without proof of insurance, a misdemeanor; and driving with an unregistered vehicle, also a misdemeanor.
It is not immediately clear whether Olivas will face additional charges due to the man’s death.
