Summerlin South takes its first loss of the Little League World Series

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Summerlin South Little League team took its first loss of the Little League World Series Wednesday against the Metro Division, represented by Connecticut, 7-3.

The team from Las Vegas will now have another shot at a berth in the U.S. Championship game by winning Thursday’s elimination bracket showdown against the winner of Wednesday’s Midwest vs. Southeast region game.

The Summerlin South Little League team is now 3-1 in the Little League World Series.

The team from the Las Vegas Valley represents the Mountain Region in the tournament. On Monday, Summerlin South scored a walk-off win against South Carolina, 1-0. On Friday, they defeated Washington, representing the Northwest Region, with a final score of 5-3. On Aug. 13, they beat the Great Lakes region, represented by Clarendon Hills, 16-1.
