LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 49-year-old is in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement after Las Vegas Metro Police arrested him on suspicion of grand larceny and an illegal fencing operation.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department booked Javier Becerril-Solis into the Clark County Detention Center on charges related to participating in an organized retail theft ring, burglary, and grand larceny. Metro Police said its organized retail crimes unit investigated him for three months.

LVMPD detectives say Becerril-Solis purchased stolen items from people who had stolen the merchandise from Valley retail stores. He’s accused of selling the items for a discounted price at a swap meet.

Thursday, investigators said they served search warrants for multiple locations. During the searches, police said $100,280 worth of shoes, designer clothes, toys and over-the-counter medications were recovered.

After his arrest, police say he was released on bail and immediately taken into custody by ICE.
