LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A suspect has been arrested and another has an outstanding arrest warrant after a dog had to be euthanized for meth toxicity, Mohave County officials say.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday animal control officers responded to a veterinarian’s office where a 2-year-old Pitbull-Terrier mix was. Police learned the dog tested positive for meth and because of the injuries, the dog was euthanized.

Veterinarian staff told police the dog was brought in by owners Marcia Peterson, 40, and Trevor Berry, 35.

Thursday, deputies responded to a home in the 2200 block of Flathead Drive in an attempt to contact the owners. Police said inside the residence, there was animal feces covering the room. Deputies believe the dog had been locked inside for a long time.

Deputies said they found drugs in plain sight.

Peterson was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and animal cruelty felonies. Berry has an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Police say anyone with information on the whereabouts of Trevor Berry is encouraged to contact MCSO’s office at 928-753-0753 and reference DR#25-033151.
