LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — As summer winds down, researchers at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, are looking into mosquito data.

UNLV’s School of Public Health is asking individuals in the Las Vegas Valley to fill out a survey about bugs inhabiting neighborhoods in the area.

Researchers will use the data to determine which ZIP codes are the biggest mosquito breeding hotspots, where the activity is happening, and which chemicals work best in which neighborhoods.

More than 650 responses have been received, with officials hoping for several hundred more before mosquito season ends in October.

Anyone interested in filling out the survey can do so at the UNLV website. The survey is available in both English and Spanish.
