LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Allegiant Stadium made a historical impact on voting in Southern Nevada, new research suggests.
A new report was released by Harvard Kennedy School Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation titled, “Voting with the Las Vegas Raiders: The Impact of Allegiant Stadium as a Polling Location in 2024.” According to a media release, the sports and entertainment venue achieved high voter turnout, new voter engagement, younger participation, broad appeal, and a positive experience.
“Allegiant Stadium is home to some of the biggest moments in football and entertainment in the country, and I’m proud we were able to open its doors and make voting a fun, accessible event for fans and our community, ”said Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar. “I’m grateful to the partnership between the Raiders and Clark County to execute a successful Election Day and encourage Nevadans to make their voices heard.”
The report says more than 4,200 Nevadans voted at Allegiant Stadium on Election Day. Researchers say the venue was the most popular polling site in the state.

35% of Allegiant Stadium voters also cast a ballot for the first time. The report says this is an increase from 20% elsewhere within Clark County. Voters at Allegiant Stadium were also reportedly ten years younger than at other polling sites.
The report suggests that the stadium was also nonpartisan. No political party received an advantage from the venue.
“The Raiders demonstrated how professional sports teams can use their platform to strengthen democracy,” said Tova Wang, Director of Research Projects in Democratic Practice at the Ash Center. “Allegiant Stadium provided not just a voting site, but a celebration of civic participation that brought in younger and first-time voters who might not otherwise have cast a ballot.”
Another highlight in the report says the festive atmosphere that day, including the Raiderettes, selfies, and team mascots, which made the voting experience memorable. Those who voted at the venue also received a special “I Voted” sticker.
The authors of the report, Tova Wang and Michael Hanmer, professor and director of the Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement at the University of Maryland, say Allegiant Stadium’s participation on Election Day shows how sports teams can connect to their community and give back to fans while supporting civic engagement.
