LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas Metro Police arrested a woman accused of impersonating a nurse and handing out prescriptions for minors last week.
According to a release from LVMPD, investigators were notified by CCSD of discrepancies with medical orders authorizing nurses and students to administer insulin at school. An investigation determined that a woman identified as 44-year-old Crystal Scott would send these orders, claiming to be on behalf of doctors, but ultimately without their knowledge.
Investigators also determined that Scott was not a registered nurse and did not hold any medical licenses. They say she would use nursing license numbers of other individuals to fill lab orders under a similarly unlicensed medical facility named “Glucose N Glow”.
Scott was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Oct. 1 for multiple felony counts, including Act as a Nurse Without License, Fill Bogus Prescription for Dangerous Drugs, Forgery, and Furnishing Dangerous Drugs to a Minor.
CCSD identified 12 students, aged 5-14, who received care from Scott. All parents of victims were notified and offered alternative resources for medical care.
Anyone with any information about this incident is urged to contact the LVMPD Special Investigations Section at 702-828-3243. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 702-385-5555, or on the internet at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
