LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — One person is dead and another is in custody Thursday morning after an argument turned deadly in the southeast valley.

According to police, the shooting occurred in the area of Sandhill and Flamingo around 1:17 a.m. LVMPD Homicide Lieutenant Robert Price held an early morning briefing where he shared preliminary details about the shooting.

Arriving officers located the shooting victim in a parking lot, where they later died. Additional responding officers were also able to locate and take the suspect into custody.

Investigators determined the victim had exited a nearby business and got into an argument with the suspect, who pulled out a gun and shot the victim.

There are currently no suspects and no threat to the community, though police activity will continue in the area for several hours.
