Design couple donates services to transform downtown Las Vegas health clinic

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A local design studio donated its services to transform a new health clinic in downtown Las Vegas into a warm, welcoming space that feels more like stepping into your aunt’s house than a medical facility.

Fredric Alexander, a married couple with offices next door to the new clinic, felt a responsibility to help create The Center’s Gavin J. Goorjian Community Health Clinic, which opened last month in the Arts District.

“We’re members of the queer community. We’re active in the revitalization of downtown Las Vegas. Our studios are downtown. So to be a part of this project was really important to us,” said Alex Stabler, co-owner of Fredric Alexander.

Community collaboration drives design

The designers say their goal was simple: create a space that feels safe and familiar while delivering professional, high-quality healthcare. Their donated work helped The Center expand from advocacy to full-spectrum care for all.

“I think sometimes it’s about recognizing the privilege that you have—and using it to collaborate,” said Freddy Godinez, co-owner of Fredric Alexander.

The three-level health center showcases the studio’s vision throughout. The top floor opened in June of last year, with the first floor and lower level following in September.

Thoughtful design enhances patient experience

On Level One, the designers created a full-service pharmacy and private rooms for telehealth, allowing patients to connect online with a provider during an emergency or last-minute visit.

Downstairs, the mental-health suite surprises with color-changing LED “windows,” counseling offices, and a rainbow path guiding patients toward care.

While The Center’s first clinic focuses on sexual health, this new site centers on behavioral health while maintaining primary care and pharmacy access.

“We have another location that is a sexual health clinic. And through that health clinic, we saw the need and the desire—and that we had to do more for our community,” said Leana Ramirez, the Chief Clinical Officer of The Center.

The clinic honors Gavin J. Goorjian, a prominent community member who passed away during COVID, whose legacy helped make this project possible.

With doors now open, the clinic fills a critical need in this part of town, bringing compassionate, comprehensive care to more people, right where they live.

The Center says they are also getting mammogram machines to better diagnose women’s health issues and has plans to add cosmetic services in the future.
