LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A small cottage bakery with viral cinnamon rolls has a growing success story with an official launch at a popular cafe, and now two women small business owners are partnering to create some culinary magic.

FOX5 told you how Mama Llama Bakery owner Lindsay Skolnik received a “cease and desist” order to halt customer pickups from their doorstep; the baker and entrepreneur was not aware that her licenses from the health district and county allow her to only do deliveries and sell at farmer’s markets.

The owner of popular restaurants Cafe Lola and St. Honore had previously been in contact with Skolnik, bonding over seed-oil recipes, clean ingredients, and precise baking techniques. Alexandra Lourdes has been through the journey of scaling up production to meet customer demands after her gourmet donuts went viral.

“We were in discussion of having my cinnamon rolls here anyway, but when I got that notice, I called her immediately, and I was like, I have to end all production August 20th. She goes, well, I guess we have our launch day,” Skolnik said. That’s basically how it happened, and it was just kind of perfect,” she said.

“I’m very honored. I love our friendship. We just became friends so quickly, because we like have the same beliefs as well when it comes to cinnamon rolls,” Lourdes said. “I learned every single mistake, and I made a lot of mistakes, and I’m like, I can give her such good advice now, which is so cool,” she said. “That’s what life’s all about though,” Lourdes said.

Skolnik is getting ready to prepare staff at the Hualapai and Flamingo Road location to bake the cinnamon rolls in her perfected recipe. Other locations will launch the cinnamon rolls sometime later.

“It’s been really heartwarming to just feel the support, and especially because I know that none of this would happen if it wasn’t for the Las Vegas community,” she said.

The cinnamon rolls and the One Bite Latte will be available starting September 1; llamas will be there to celebrate as well.
